Kari Starr is a writer, poet, and the founder of Strength in Soul Media.
Kari has always believed that words can give shape to the things we struggle to say aloud. She first wrote Sacred Space more than twenty-five years ago, during a season of becoming—using poetry to explore love, identity, connection, loss, and the search for self.
More than two decades later, she returns to those words from a very different place. Life has brought love and heartbreak, motherhood, grief, change, and the quiet rediscovery of her own strength. Through it all, writing has remained a place to come home to.
The Life Between the Lines
Kari's life has unfolded far beyond the pages of her first book. She is a mother, a psychiatric nurse, a daughter who has known profound loss, and a woman who has learned that becoming yourself is rarely a straight line.
Sacred Space returns not because the woman who wrote it remained the same, but because she didn't.
Some words wait for us to become ready for them again.
